ABOUT US
New Delhi Residency and Studios offers furnished studio-accommodation to artists and researchers from diverse disciplines during their stay in New Delhi. Initiated in 2005, the residency located in the southeast part of Delhi, is designed for residents to have a work and stay studio, with access to a common hall, kitchen, basement and terrace. The shared areas allow for screenings, open studios, performances and gatherings in accordance to project requirements.

AT A GLANCE

AN ARTIST RESIDENCY AND STUDIO SPACE

Nestled in a residential colony, New Delhi Residency and Studios has convenient access to the metro, highway, markets and public parks. For daily essentials, restaurants, traditional Indian clothing and fabric, hardware and art supplies, the Central Market in Lajpat Nagar is a short walk from the residency.

 

The capital is well connected by a rail system, and the nearest metro station is 300 meters away. New Delhi Railway Station for interstate travel is 10 kilometers away and the Domestic and International Airports are 20 kilometers away.

 

Numerous historical sites, art and cultural institutions such as the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), India Habitat Centre, India International Centre, Kamani Auditorium, Crafts Museum and private art galleries are situated within a 10-kilometer radius from the apartment.

WHAT WE OFFER

The furnished studio-accommodation is air conditioned with private bathrooms, running hot water facility and a small balcony for leisure. A common kitchen equipped for cooking and ample storage units for provisions is shared among residents. Additional facilities include Wi-Fi, a water filter and a washing machine.

 

We welcome applications year-round and strive to accommodate residents depending on availability. The program is self-led, and candidates need to apply with a project that they will be able to develop independently during their stay. We encourage interactions with local communities involved in crafts, design and art.
